You think bubbles indoors was easy (maybe not)...well let's see what you think when you head outdoors! Wind can definitely create a frustration level like nothing you've ever felt before!!! BUT, with a few strategies, you may get a few good shots today.
Camera Management Tips: -Keep your ISO low-100 or 200 unless it's shady, but no more than 400 midday outdoors -close up's low aperture (F5-6), more open shots F7-9 *Decide your settings and check your exposure level on your meter BEFORE anyone even blows a bubble! No point in taking photos if they are all under or overexposed! *Keep your hand on your focus ring at all times and remember to adjust !Use the shutter burst feature!
Composition Tips: Chasing bubbles is more than likely NOT going to produce quality photos...so instead try this... -place the bubble blower in front of a simple background (the sky, the grass, the wall) -have your bubble blower put the wand or a hand out where they are going to blow and focus on that...that way when they blow bubbles you are more likely to get a focused shot -try capturing the bubbles as they come out of wand... have the bubble blower blow slowly! -photo a "captured" bubble...again, simple background! -photo from below the eye level of the bubble blower, above them, from the side...get creative -keep the sun from being behind your subject matter or you will get dark subjects with overexposed backgrounds. Instead, keep the sun to the side or get in the shade. *If you don't have a manual in your hands, use the shutter burst feature on your cell phone! -Take a TON of photos...the more you have, the more likely you are to have a few that you think look good. This isn't easy! You make take 100 and like 2 or 3!
