Taking Photos: Using your phone or the manual camera, take photos of compositions that represent individual letters of the alphabet. Try and get several photos of each letter, especially common letters like vowels and S, T, R, etc... We will be using these letters to create some "Word Art." Some Do's and Don'ts DO: -Take the photos with the camera turned to a "tall" view, not a traditional wide angle -Take multiple photos of each letter! Some may not turn out as well as you think OR you may need the same letter twice in a word -Zoom in! Try to crop out any unnecessary background that will keep the viewer from "seeing" the letter in your photosimplify the background so it is easier to see the letter (if possible) -Edit as necessary in Photoshop: crop out unnecessary or confusing objects, adjust lighting, sharpening, etc...) DON'T: -DO NOT "create" your letter- do not form the letter out of objects (like lining up pencils to make an E, or molding clay into an O). The idea is to find the letter naturally within your surroundingsuse your fingers (No ASL, although that might be interesting as a side project) DO NOT take photos of letters themselves on objects like signs, books, keyboard, etc...) Do NOT use the same object for multiple letters- like a wire moved around to form different letters). An object should only be used once for each letter.Save ALL letters you take from the camera or your phone onto your flash drive or in your documents! Edit prior to starting the word art project!!
